About Us
Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant for the Albany State University Center for Blockchain Innovation and Emerging Technology is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support and coordination to the Project Coordinator in the development, implementation, and delivery of a substantial and diverse shared service portfolio of activities across the University. This position will report directly to the Project Coordinator and play a key role in ensuring efficient operations, managing administrative tasks, and supporting the overall success of the Center for Blockchain Innovation and emerging Technology. This is a part-time, grant-funded, temporary position that will not exceed three months.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support and Coordination (50%)
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Project Coordinator, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other relevant documents.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and files for the Center's operations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, frameworks, and operational plans.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and compile data, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
Operations Management (30%)
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in coordinating and managing operational activities within the Center.
  • Monitor and track project progress, ensuring adherence to timeliness and deadlines.
  • Conduct research, gather information, and provide analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements and workflow optimization.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend solutions for increased productivity.
Supervision and Training (20%)
  • Provide guidance, training, and supervision to student assistants and other support staff.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the completion of assigned responsibilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support staff development.
  • Coordinate work schedules and manage time-off requests for staff support.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in business administration or related field
6 months to 1 year of experience in an office environment.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
Proposed Salary
The salary for this position is $9,000 for the three-month duration and is structured as a part-time role.
