Job description

Telemetry Monitor Technician (PRN / Nights)

Work location: Texas Health Rockwall, 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032
Work hours: PRN "As needed", 5:30pm - 6:00am, Days worked vary based on requested shifts.
Telemetry Monitoring Department Highlights:

Here's What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Cardiac telemetry experience is preferred
  • 1 year of telemetry monitoring experience strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding/ability to learn medical terminology

What You Will Do:
  • Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
  • Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
  • Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
  • Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
  • Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission.
  • Notifies patient's primary RN promptly of any changes in patient's monitor view.
  • Communicates promptly of perceived risks specific to patient safety or immediate need for assistance to co-workers, nurses, and physicians/providers.
  • Serves as a patient advocate.
  • Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Uses Professional Practice Model philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers, and all other disciplines.
