Job description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Telemetry Technician-Clerical Coordinator (TT/CC) is responsible for continuous ECG and SpO2 monitoring for assigned patients and for promptly notifying the RN of significant changes. As part of the Centralized Telemetry Command, this role supports ICU, step-down, ER, and med-surg units by ensuring real-time surveillance and coordination that directly impacts patient safety.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Performing daily operational checks and maintenance of all monitoring equipment
  • Maintaining an organized nurse station and supporting the clinical team as needed
  • Answering phones and patient call lights promptly and courteously
  • Assisting patients, visitors, and clinical staff in a professional manner
  • Completing clerical tasks including census updates, supply organization, and inventory tracking
  • Monitoring electronic orders and notifying the Charge Nurse of new admissions
  • Participating in skill validations, competency checks, and shift coordination
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a basic arrhythmia (ECG) course with a passing ECG competency

Preferred
  • Recent experience in an acute care setting as a Telemetry or Monitor Technician-Clerical Coordinator
