Job description

CASUAL -NIGHTS

Scope of Work

To monitor noninvasive cardiac activity and other clinical parameters of patient populations ranging from adolescence to geriatric by continuous electrocardiographic display and pulse oximetry. The technician is responsible for the interpretation of the patient's cardiac rhythm and preforms critical alarm hand off with the nursing unit appropriately. The technician also maintains data related to monitoring and provides daily reports for the patient's permanent medical record via electronic shift report directly into EMR.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education.
  • Certified Cardiovascular Technician School or comparable certification preferred.
  • The technician must have excellent knowledge of advanced ECG interpretation demonstrated by an arrhythmia skills validation given by the department. Excellent written and verbal communication and report generating skill are necessary.
  • Previous Holter scanning, paramedic, nurse technician, stress testing or telemetry experience would be preferred.
  • One year of relevant experience preferred as an EKG technician, medical assistant, emergency Technician, nursing assistant.
  • CRAT- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician, preferable but not required.
  • Must be able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
