MaryJane's Diner is what happens when you take the classic American diner and turn it up to 11 - Southern California style. Crave-worthy breakfasts, satisfying lunches, and cocktails that hit all the right notes - all served up center stage at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, where the Gaslamp Quarter's legendary energy is about to explode for Comic-Con International!
This July, our diner will be buzzing with superheroes, celebrities, and die-hard fans - and we need temporary culinary rock stars to keep the good vibes (and great eats) rolling all week long.
Your Mission
As a Temporary Cook I, you'll be the behind-the-scenes hero prepping, cooking, and plating dishes that fuel our Comic-Con crowds. You'll work with our all-star kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality diner classics with speed, accuracy, and a rock star attitude - from sunrise breakfast to late-night bites.
What You'll Do
✅ Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and guest preferences - even during peak rush.
✅ Keep your station fully stocked, organized, and ready to jam every shift.
✅ Maintain a clean, safe work area in line with all sanitation and safety standards.
✅ Support with prep, stock rotation, and end-of-shift cleanup to keep the kitchen humming.
✅ Communicate and work in sync with your fellow cooks and service team to keep the plates hot and the guests happy.
✅ Jump in wherever needed - because teamwork makes the diner vibe unstoppable.
You're a Great Fit If You...
Have 1+ year of culinary experience in a hotel, high-volume diner, or similar environment.
Can handle a busy line - from prep to plating - with speed, accuracy, and a calm vibe.
Love working as part of a team and stepping up to help whenever needed.
Keep your cool under pressure and know the Comic-Con energy is part of the fun!
Are available for full-time, flexible shifts during Comic-Con International week, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

Tu Misión
Como Cook I Temporal, serás el héroe tras bambalinas preparando, cocinando y emplatando platos que alimenten a nuestras multitudes de Comic-Con. Trabajarás junto a nuestro equipo de cocina de primera para entregar clásicos del diner consistentes y de alta calidad con velocidad, precisión y una actitud de rockstar - desde desayunos al amanecer hasta bocadillos nocturnos.
Lo Que Harás
✅ Preparar y cocinar los elementos del menú según recetas, estándares de porciones y preferencias de los huéspedes - incluso en horas pico.
✅ Mantener tu estación completamente abastecida, organizada y lista para la acción en cada turno.
✅ Mantener un área de trabajo limpia y segura, cumpliendo todas las normas de saneamiento y seguridad.
✅ Apoyar con la preparación, rotación de existencias y limpieza al final del turno para que la cocina funcione como una máquina.
✅ Comunicarte y trabajar en sincronía con tus compañeros cocineros y el equipo de servicio para mantener los platos calientes y a los huéspedes felices.
✅ Ayudar donde sea necesario - porque el trabajo en equipo hace que la vibra del diner sea imparable.
Eres el Rockstar Perfecto Si...
Tienes más de 1 año de experiencia culinaria en hotelería, diners de alto volumen o un entorno similar.
Sabes manejar una línea ocupada - desde la preparación hasta el emplatado - con velocidad, precisión y una vibra tranquila.
Te encanta trabajar como parte de un equipo y estar dispuesto a ayudar siempre que se necesite.
Mantienes la calma bajo presión y sabes que la energía de Comic-Con es parte de la diversión.
Tienes disponibilidad para trabajar turnos completos y flexibles durante la semana de Comic-Con International, incluyendo mañanas temprano, noches y fines de semana.
