INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work at the school.
Candidates for this position must be Highly Qualified through one of the following:
  • Have obtained an Associate's degree, or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
  • Completed a minimum of 48 college credits from a nationally or regionally accredited institution of higher education, documented through transcripts; OR
  • Passed the ParaPro assessment with a minimum score of 455. Documentation of test score must be submitted.

  • JOB SUMMARY:
    This temporary position involves paraprofessional work that requires the teacher assistant to assist the classroom teacher in performing a variety of tasks, i.e., emergency plans, health-related plans/services, behavioral plans and carrying out instructional procedures. This work is performed under the direct supervision of the teacher and/or building administrator, and/or appropriate Special Education Department administrator. The employee must interact with students, parents, and staff in a positive manner. Duration of the assignment is dependent on program needs and availability of funding.
