How You Will Contribute:

  • Lead and manage cost reduction programs for Wavelogic optical products, ensuring timely completion and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain program status, deliverables, and timelines to achieve measurable cost savings.
  • Establish metrics to track cost reduction progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on program outcomes, cost savings, and ROI to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate across departments including Procurement, PLM, Design, Supply Chain, and Finance for seamless execution of cost-saving measures.
  • Provide input to the Design Cost Reduction Budget and annual pass-through Cost Reduction Budget.
  • Deliver multi-year cost trajectory roadmaps to support quarterly standards reviews with Product Line Management and Finance teams.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or business; MBA preferred.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in electro-optical and mechanical telecom products and associated supply chains.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Onspring; knowledge of Power BI and Alteryx is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize information concisely.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills to drive cost reduction initiatives effectively.
  • Availability to travel 5-10% of the time.

Nice to Haves:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation.
  • Familiarity with Ciena's Wavelogic portfolio and telecommunications industry.
  • Experience with tools like Alteryx for data analytics and visualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Background in budgeting and financial forecasting related to product cost reduction.

Pay Range:
The annual pay range for this position in Ottawa is $110, 100 - $175, 900

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
