The Expense Analyst supports the day-to-day administration of the company's Travel and Expense (T&E) program. This role is responsible for reviewing expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies, supporting accounting processes, and providing expense analysis to promote accurate reporting and effective expense management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and approve expense reports in SAP Concur, ensuring timely submission, accurate coding, and compliance with company policies.
  • Verify that required documentation and receipts are provided for corporate card and employee reimbursement expense reports.
  • Audit expense reports to identify policy violations, duplicate submissions, out-of-policy spending, and other high-risk transactions.
  • Analyze expense activity and trends to support compliance and cost management initiatives.
  • Prepare expense-related documentation and reports for Accounting departments.
  • Create and maintain CSV uploads for general ledger review and processing.
  • Review expense allocations and expenditures against departmental budgets.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers to support workload management and expense processing activities.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and provide analytical support to management as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and expense management practices.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, or a related accounting function.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Concur preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, filtering, sorting, and pivot tables.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
