Telecom Channel Managers are professionals responsible for building and managing relationships with third-party partners, such as resellers and distributors, to sell telecommunications products and services. They develop strategies to increase sales through these channels, provide training and support, and ensure partners meet sales targets. Channel Managers act as the main point of contact between the telecom company and its partners, helping to grow the company's presence in the market.

How does a telecom channel manager typically collaborate with partners and internal teams to drive sales success?

A Telecom Channel Manager works closely with external channel partners—such as resellers, distributors, and agents—to develop joint business plans, provide training, and ensure partners have the tools and support needed to sell telecom solutions effectively. Internally, they coordinate with sales, marketing, product, and technical support teams to align strategies, share market insights, and resolve partner issues promptly. This cross-functional collaboration is crucial for addressing partner needs, optimizing go-to-market strategies, and ultimately achieving revenue goals.

Job description

About Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions
Ericsson has a vision to lead in the emerging Enterprise 5G networking and security markets and establish 5G as a communication platform via global network APIs. Business Area Enterprise Wireless Solutions (BEWS) plays a fundamental role in achieving this goal by building a differentiated enterprise networking and security product portfolio and by scaling a global multi-channel go-to-market. Leveraging Ericsson's leadership in cellular, BEWS aims to become the trusted partner for enterprise wireless network infrastructure, with cellular as the entry point and zero trust security as a norm.
Grow with us
The Business Controller - Sales Organization is the strategic finance leader and trusted advisor to the Chief of Sales and Head of Marketing, operating as a unit CFO for the global Sales and Marketing organization and as a core member of the Leadership Teams. This role goes beyond traditional financial management to drive profitable growth through advanced modeling, scenario planning, creative financial thinking, and close commercial partnership with a North star of value creation for Ericsson in the form of higher profits and cash flow. The successful candidate will help shape go-to-market decisions, pricing and channel strategies, customer opportunities, and resource allocation choices as BEWS scales toward its ambition to double the business to more than $1B.
Role differentiators
  • Embedded finance partner to the Chief of Sales, Head of Marketing and their Leadership Teams. Primary focus on value creation via profitable growth, commercial scenario modeling, sales productivity, channel economics, pricing, and customer profitability.

  • Requires enterprise experience, supporting a multi-channel environment, and the ability to provide senior executives with clear, actionable financial advice. Substantial use of AI tools to support meaningful insights and personal productivity. Ideal background includes Wireless WAN, networking, telecom, cybersecurity, or adjacent enterprise technology markets.

What you will do
  • Act as the strategic finance partner to Sales and Marketing, shaping investment choices, priorities, and performance while proactively surfacing risks and opportunities that impact revenue, margin, cash flow, and shareholder value.
  • Lead complex commercial planning and scenario modeling for bookings, revenue, gross margin, operating income, and cash flow, including business cases for customer pursuits, partner strategies, coverage models, and growth initiatives.
  • Drives sales performance and growth economics by analysing productivity, pipeline conversion, channel effectiveness, and customer profitability, and by establishing targets, guardrails, and real-time dashboards for decision-making.
  • Partner across a multi-channel global go-to-market (direct, distributors, resellers, service providers, strategic partners) to assess ROI, optimise revenue outcomes, and align Finance teams around a "One Finance" approach to sales plans and risks.
  • Provide governance and risk management for sales-related activities-overseeing pricing, margins, contracts, and forecasts-while ensuring compliance with finance frameworks and accounting principles and advising on the financial implications of commercial commitments.
  • Translate commercial trends into executive-ready insights that influence strategy, resource allocation, and performance management routines across Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Finance.

Desired outcomes
  • Profitable growth decisions supported by rigorous scenario modeling and creative financial thinking.

  • Sharper visibility into revenue, margin, pipeline quality, channel performance, and customer profitability.

  • Finance recognized as a proactive business enabler and trusted advisor to Sales and Marketing leadership.

  • Disciplined resource allocation aligned to BEWS growth ambitions and shareholder value creation.

What you will bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including experience leading or managing people.

  • Enterprise experience with multiple go-to-market channels and complex commercial models.

  • Experience in Wireless WAN, networking, telecom, cybersecurity, or adjacent enterprise technology sectors strongly preferred.

  • Passion and growth mindset, with the ambition and resilience required to help scale BEWS toward $1B+ revenue.
