Position Summary

The IT Program Manager leads Vericel’s technology portfolio, driving initiatives that support enterprise growth and advancement of core systems. This role ensures effective governance and delivery of complex programs through close partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Schedule: This position is in-office from Monday – Thursday in our new Burlington, MA location, with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and governance of enterprise IT programs, ensuring delivery of new capabilities aligned to business priorities and evolving organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps and integrated plans, including scope, timelines, dependencies, resources, and financials across multiple initiatives.
  • Establish and continuously improve IT PMO governance frameworks, standards, methodologies, and performance metrics to enable consistent and effective program delivery.
  • Partner with business and cross-functional stakeholders to define program objectives, scope, and success criteria, and drive alignment and decision-making throughout execution.
  • Oversee end-to-end program delivery, including requirements, design, implementation, validation, and change management, providing governance and oversight across initiatives led by internal and external project managers, and stepping in to directly manage projects as needed to ensure delivery and operational readiness.
  • Manage program risks, issues, and dependencies, providing clear communication, status reporting, and executive-level insights to support timely decisions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex technology programs and portfolios, with responsibility for planning, execution, governance, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional programs in complex or regulated environments, including ownership of integrated plans, timelines, dependencies, and milestones across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong expertise in program and project management methodologies, including scheduling, risk/issue management, prioritization, and delivery governance within a PMO or portfolio structure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse audiences, manage expectations, and deliver clear status reporting, dashboards, and executive updates.
  • Ability toestablishand implement program governance frameworks, standards, and reporting processes to support effective decision-making and execution.
  • Experience working in regulated industries and familiarity with relevant compliance frameworks (e.g.,GxP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, GDPR, CSV/CSA, data integrity) preferred.
  • Project or Program Management certification (e.g., PMP,PgMP,SAFe) is a plus.

The salary range Vericel reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting is $135,000 to $165,000 annually.
The actual salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills. Bonus, incentive pay, equity and benefits may be provided in addition to the base compensation listed above.
