TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN

JOB GOAL:

To provide timely, effective, and customer-focused technical support for the District's technology systems, ensuring reliable access to instructional and operational technology that supports student learning and district operations. The Technology Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs technology hardware, software, and related systems while providing exceptional service to staff and students. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent education, technical training, and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting computer hardware, software, and network-connected devices; K-12 school district experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Google Workspace for Education, ChromeOS, Active Directory, and device management systems.
• Basic understanding of wired and wireless networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting printers, audiovisual equipment, interactive classroom technology, and mobile devices.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently while recognizing when escalation is necessary.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and vendors.
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide technical support for district computers, Chromebooks, mobile devices, printers, audiovisual equipment, interactive displays, telephones, and other technology resources.
• Install, configure, image, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hardware, operating systems, software, and peripherals.
• Respond promptly to technology support requests using the district's help desk system and document work performed.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, wireless access points, switches, and network-connected devices.
• Support Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Active Directory, device management platforms, and district-approved instructional software.
• Perform preventative maintenance, software updates, equipment replacements, and technology lifecycle management.
• Assist with technology inventory, asset tracking, warranty documentation, and equipment disposal in accordance with district procedures.
• Support classroom technology integration and provide technical assistance during instructional activities, assessments, and district events.
• Assist with technology implementation projects, including device deployments, classroom installations, system upgrades, and summer technology initiatives.
• Support cybersecurity efforts by following district security protocols, maintaining device compliance, and protecting confidential data.
• Provide clear, professional communication and technology assistance to staff with varying levels of technical proficiency.
• Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and district technology standards through ongoing professional learning.
• Work collaboratively with district administrators, instructional staff, vendors, and members of the Technology Department to ensure efficient technology operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Supervisor.

EVALUATION:  Annual 

SALARY:  $57,122 - $68,207 (Based on Experience)

WORK YEAR:  12 months
