Job description

Woodland Veterinary Hospital is excited to offer an internal growth opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician who is ready to take the next step in their career. We are seeking a Technician Manager to help lead our support staff team while continuing to contribute hands-on patient care in our collaborative general practice environment.
In this role, you will:
  • Oversee daily hospital flow and help ensure efficient, high-quality patient care throughout the day
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to support workflow efficiency and team success
  • Support onboarding, training, and continued development of clinical support staff
  • Create and manage staff schedules based on the needs of the business
  • Help manage inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels for hospital operations
  • Promote a culture of safety by supporting hospital safety initiatives, reinforcing best practices, and helping ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols
  • Support veterinarians and clinical staff during outpatient appointments, surgery, and dental procedures as needed
  • Foster a positive, accountable, team-oriented culture focused on excellent patient and client care

Schedule:
This is a full-time position, with flexible availability needed throughout the week to support the needs of the business.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
  • California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) needs to be obtained within first 90 days of employment.
  • 5+ years of veterinary assistant or veterinary technician clinical experience is required
  • Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California - preferred
  • 3+ years of Supervisor or Management experience is required
  • Strong understanding of hospital workflow, patient care standards, and team delegation
  • Experience training and mentoring veterinary support staff
