Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for delivering and support of technical training needs for Services North America, in EL Service division in US, providing technical expertise to the EL Services technical training curriculum.
You will support the EL Services Strategic Training Leader to establish, deliver & meet the strategic training direction/priorities set by the business and technical training and development team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Services Training center in Cary, NC. This includes compliance to all regulatory & non-regulatory ABB safety requirements (Reporting of Risk assessments, Safety Hazards, SOTs), equipment management, & facility maintenance.

  • Oversee the technical content of the EL Services training curriculum. This includes development of new product Service offerings/trainings, development of legacy ABB product Service offerings/trainings, collaboration with 3rd party content development teams; Establish/manage the technical training course master schedule, & ensuring resources such as training material, course instructors, equipment are prepared in advance of scheduled class.

  • Ensure assigned course instructors meet instructional requirements - internal certification, ability to provide a safe learning environment (Classroom & Lab), Accuracy (attendance, delivery of content, certification requirements)

  • Select & ensures training compliance of 3rd party suppliers; Support technical projects/discussions as needed by the business.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering, or similar technical field or higher education

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with focus on Power Delivery equipment AND training experience, OR Associate degree PLUS minimum 7 years related experience in Field service type role, OR Technical certificate, and/or HS diploma/GED PLUS 12 years related experience.

  • Previous training experience to include Technical content development, delivery, and instructor development materials

  • Strong cross-functional relationships (Product, Factory, Services)

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities & meet business timelines & deliverables

  • Experience supporting Electrical Services or Products, a plus; LV and MV experience preferred

  • This position must be based in or near to Cary, NC

  • Travel up to 30%, domestic

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
