Job description

Imperative Chemical Partners has an immediate opening for a Technical Services Representative in Midland, Tx. If you are interested in joining a growing company with a proven track record of success, this is your opportunity!

SUMMARY:

The Technical Service Representative will provide technical and field support for the application, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical products used in oil and gas production and processing. This role serves as a technical liaison between the company and its customers, ensuring product performance, program optimization, and technical excellence. The TSR will support product testing and qualification programs, and contribute to technical documentation and customer reports.

JOB DUTIES:

Field & Technical Support

    • Provide on-site technical support for chemical applications in upstream and midstream oil and gas operations.
    • Conduct field testing, sampling, and performance evaluations of treatment programs.
    • Support program total system analysis as well as new business opportunities through leading of field surveys.
    • Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend corrective actions or product recommendations
    • Manage monitoring, and optimization of chemical treatment programs.

Customer Interface & Relationship Management

    • Interact with customers, addressing performance concerns and providing data-driven recommendations.
    • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Present technical findings and engage in chemical review meetings with customers.

Product Testing & Development

    • Oversee or participate in laboratory testing and field trials for new or reformulated products.
    • Provide specific metrics for customer success and understanding of customer needs for new products
    • Analyze data and prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations.
    • Work closely with R&D and product development teams to validate and improve formulations.

Technical Writing & Documentation

    • Write technical recommendations, and full survey summaries to include findings, testing, results and conclusions
    • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), manuals, and best practice documents.
    • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards for documentation and reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience:

    • 1-5 years of relevant field experience within field engineering, or production chemistry within the oil and gas industry.
    • Fundamental knowledge of chemical treatment programs (e.g., corrosion inhibition, scale control, emulsion breaking, biocides, etc.).
    • Fundamental background in field operations, data analysis, and customer engagement.

Skills & Competencies:

    • Technical troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for direct customer interaction.
    • Proficient in technical writing, report preparation, and presentation development.
    • Knowledge of HSE standards and safe field practices.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and data analysis software (Excel, Power BI, etc.).

Other Requirements:

    • Willingness to travel to field sites, often in remote or challenging environments.
    • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with Company policy.
    • Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
    • Must complete and pass all required pre-employment screenings.
