Job description

Role: Technical Product Manager
Location: Tampa, FL and Cary, NC
Responsibilities
  • Lead/support multiple data platform projects simultaneously from concept through production deployment
  • Partner with Product Managers, Finance/Actuarial stakeholders, and client services to capture business requirements for Accounting, Planning & Projections, Cashflow, Expense, Disclosures, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, plus insurance domains (policies, claims, pricing, reserves).
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project artifacts: user stories, API specifications, process flows, RBAC/audit requirements, prototype designs for gold-layer data access.
  • Act as Project Manager for key initiatives; drive engineering/QA through SDLC phases (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment) using Agile ceremonies.
  • Manage project governance: schedules, risk registers, executive reporting, dependency tracking across data engineering, platform, and compliance teams.
  • Take ownership of critical issues, enlist proper representation from other support teams and drive towards resolution.

Qualifications
  • 12+ years as a Technical Product Owner/Business Analyst in financial services/fintech
  • Deep financial services domain expertise across Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Cashflow, regulatory reporting plus insurance experience (policies, underwriting, claims, reserving) highly preferred.
  • Proven experience crafting detailed user stories, API specifications, and wireframes for data/AI products serving external/internal consumers.
  • Practitioner-level mastery of product ownership frameworks, Agile/Scrum, and SDLC with hands-on delivery of complex data projects.
  • Demonstrated success productizing technical concepts into revenue-generating or cost-saving offerings.
  • Exceptional analytical/problem-solving skills; can translate ambiguous business needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Proven team leadership, project management, and group facilitation skills
  • Detail-oriented and possess excellent oral, written, and organizational skills
  • Has a strong can do attitude and can build relationships with stakeholders both horizontally and vertically across the organization

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with insurance-specific data flows.
  • PMP/Scrum Master certification or equivalent.
