ABOUT SEACO

Seaco originated in 1965, and was incorporated in Bermuda in 1973 joining forces with Genstar in 1998 as GE Seaco bring a joint venture in 1998 between General Electric Capital Corporation and Sea Containers Ltd. Subsequently acquired by Chinese transport conglomerate HNA in 2011, Seaco became a wholly owned subsidiary of Shenzhen listed Bohai Leasing Co until December 2025, when it was acquired, Typewriter Ascend Ltd, a Bermuda entity controlled by Stonepeak and an affiliate of Textainer, reinforcing Textainer’s long-standing strategic objective to be customers’ “first call” for the supply of containers.

Together with Textainer, their combined fleet of approximately 8.3 million CEU makes it the world’s largest and most diversified container fleet on a CEU basis.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Marketing Director / Operations Director, this role is responsible for all aspects of Area Operations, including the maintenance and repair of Seaco and Textainer equipment to current IICL and Textainer Repair Standards. Ensures accurate booking, movement, and repair data; manages the repair cycle to ensure timely authorization and repair activity; and provides equipment availability and high-quality customer service to Marketing and lessees.


ESSENTIAL APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Clear written and verbal English and Spanish communication skills.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in operations, depot coordination, equipment repair estimating, or the container leasing/shipping industry.
  • Strong understanding of Reefer container maintenance and repair processes, including IICL standards.
  • Experience performing daily operational follow-up with depots, surveyors, and lessees.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing or interpreting repair estimates preferred.
  • Experience with EDI systems and depot operational communication strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to IICL inspection standards and repair evaluation practices is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting regional operations or multi-depot coordination preferred.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Data Entry & EDI Management:

  • Ensure booking, movement, and repair data is accurately input/updated according to the Textainer Guidelines.
  • Monitor EDI processing and resolve issues in coordination with Area Operations staff.
  • Independently resolve CEDEX/EDI discrepancies and follow up directly with depots.
  • Identify recurring EDI or data errors and notify the Technical Manager or IT Support for correction
  • Identify systemic EDI, CEDEX, or data accuracy issues across multiple depots and collaborate with IT or Technical Services to implement corrective process improvements.


Redeliveries:

  • Ensure lessees receive redelivery references promptly and accurately per Textainer guidelines.
  • Review redelivery confirmations from depots and correct discrepancies before release to Marketing or lessees.


Depot Management:

  • Ensure repair estimates are received promptly from depots.
  • Review estimates to confirm accurate cost breakdowns aligned with MAH and the Material Price List.
  • Monitor and spot-check estimate variances and coordinate follow-up with depots and the Technical Manager.
  • Ensure issues are captured for the next depot audit cycle.
  • Communicate directly with depots regarding estimate clarifications and required corrections, ensuring timely updates in TEXIII.
  • Support the Operations Director in monitoring regional depot performance and provide recommendations regarding depot capability, repair quality trends, and improvement needs.


Repair Cycle Progressing:

  • Maintain timely repair cycle progression through daily follow-up with depots, survey companies, lessees, and surveyors.
  • Issue reminders per Textainer's Reminder System.
  • Escalate overdue repair authorizations per Textainer guidelines.
  • Monitor depot repair turnaround performance and escalate repeat delays to Operations Management.
  • Analyze repair cycle trends across depot locations, identify recurring bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements to improve repair turnaround times.

Survey Coordination:

  • Liaise with survey companies to ensure surveys are completed promptly.
  • Confirm survey scheduling with depots and escalate overdue surveys to the Operations Director.
  • Coordinate survey communication independently with depots, surveyors, and lessees to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide guidance to Operations Assistants on survey protocols and support the Operations Director with escalated survey coordination or complex survey requirements.


Repair Disputes:

  • Arrange joint surveys with lessees, surveyors, and the Area Technical Manager to resolve disputes.
  • Escalate unresolved disputes to the Area Technical Manager/Operations Director.
  • Assist Operations Management in preparing documentation for complex repair disputes and cost reviews.
  • Review complex repair disputes, assess cost justification, and prepare recommendations for the Operations Director for final resolution decisions.


Customer Service & Reporting:

  • Provide Marketing with accurate availability, inventory, and repair reports.
  • Report competitor stock movements as observed.
  • Resolve lessee inquiries related to bookings, movements, and repairs.
  • Prepare routine operational reports such as repair summaries, estimate tracking lists, and availability updates.
  • Provide explanations to Marketing and lessees regarding repair status, estimate differences, or operational delays.


Stock Checks / Inventory Control:

  • Ensure stock checks are completed per Textainer guidelines.
  • Investigate discrepancies in depot stock reports by reviewing depot movements and TEXIII records.
  • Monitor regional stock accuracy and support the Operations Director with analysis of location discrepancies or emerging inventory patterns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong understanding of reefer container maintenance and repair processes, including IICL standards and Textainer Repair Guidelines.
  • Ability to review repair estimates for accuracy, cost alignment, proper coding, and required corrections.
  • Ability to independently resolve CEDEX/EDI discrepancies and identify recurring data issues.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret estimate variances and repair cost differences.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating directly with depots, survey companies, surveyors, lessees, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and deadlines within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proficiency with TEX, EDI platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and operational reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in resolving operational issues.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to resolve more complex repair and availability questions from Marketing and Lessees.
  • Strong ability to analyze repair, estimate, and depot performance trends across multiple locations and recommend improvements.
  • Advanced judgment in evaluating complex repair cost disputes and providing recommendations for resolution.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
