Job description

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a strategic and commercially driven leader to serve as VP, Global Technical Sales - EDA New Business Growth, reporting directly to the SVP, EDA Global Sales.
In this role, you will lead the evolution of the global technical sales organization, strengthening its ability to support new business growth across emerging technologies, high-growth platforms, and strategic solution areas within the EDA portfolio. Working closely with regional sales and technical sales leadership as well as portfolio teams, you will help align technical sales capabilities, resources, and execution to priority growth initiatives, including new logo acquisition, platform adoption, and cross-product expansion.
A critical aspect of this role is leading the development of the technical sales organization's roles, capabilities, and engagement models. Working in close partnership with your leadership team, you will build a high-performance organization with the commercial acumen, hunter mindset, operational discipline, and technical depth required to consistently execute against growth priorities.
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in the EDA and semiconductor industries, proven commercial leadership, broad portfolio knowledge, and a track record of building organizational capability, developing leaders, and improving execution in a complex global environment.
Drive New Business Growth Alignment
  • Facilitate partnership across technical sales, regional sales, and portfolio leadership to align on priority growth opportunities; drive focus on new logo acquisition, emerging technology adoption, platform expansion, and cross-product growth
  • Act as a key collaborator in the regionally-led new business planning processes, helping ensure technical sales investments, expertise, and deployment strategies support agreed growth priorities
  • Partner with regional technical sales leaders to establish and drive adoption of operating rhythms and governance mechanisms that promote alignment, visibility, accountability, and execution excellence across global and regional teams

Enable Solution-Led Selling in Emerging Areas
  • Provide strategic oversight of technical sales engagement in areas where demand is not yet fully sales-driven
  • Align stakeholders on solution strategy, value positioning, and demand creation approaches
  • Ensure innovation is effectively translated into scalable, customer-ready solutions that accelerate adoption and support business growth
  • Promote consistent technical sales methodologies and best practices across emerging technologies and growth platforms

Lead and Develop a Global Leadership Team
  • Lead and develop a global technical sales leadership team, driving alignment, accountability, and capability building
  • Enable leaders to effectively prioritize and deploy resources against the highest-value opportunities
  • Build organizational bench strength and leadership capability across a globally distributed team

Evolve Capabilities and Operating Model
  • In partnership with the leadership team, evolve roles, capabilities, and engagement models to support growth priorities
  • Build a strong hunter mindset, commercial focus, and execution discipline across the organization
  • Strengthen collaboration across regional sales, regional technical sales, and portfolio teams
  • Drive adoption of common operating practices, performance expectations, and development frameworks

Drive Execution Discipline and Visibility
• Improve visibility into pipeline, deal progression, and execution performance across strategic growth areas
  • Establish mechanisms to support prioritization, resource alignment, and performance management
  • Monitor organizational effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve impact, scale, and technical sales productivity

Lead Global Resource Strategy
• Oversee resource allocation, including budgets, for a global team of 400+ across 17 countries
Partner with regional vice presidents, technical sales leaders, and portfolio leaders to align capacity, investments, and deployment plans with business priorities

The pay range for this position is 248,300 - 471,800 annually with a target incentive of 30 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
