Merchant Onboarding Manager

We are looking for a Merchant Onboarding Manager to join our Merchant Operations department. You will work closely with Sales Management, Compliance, Underwriting, Account Management, and other teams to guide merchants through the early stages of onboarding onto the Adyen platform.

In this role, you will own the onboarding lifecycle from commercial handover to operational readiness. You will design solutions that balance compliance requirements with commercial opportunities, working directly with Compliance to ensure complex deals are set up for long-term success. You will also streamline operational steps between commercial teams and onboarding, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for merchants.

What you'll do

  • Understand Adyen's product offering and advise merchants or Commercial teams on how to best leverage it.
  • Partner with Sales Management and Compliance to shape onboarding solutions for complex deals.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory and scheme compliance requirements and apply them in onboarding decisions.
  • Consolidate operational touchpoints into a streamlined process to reduce friction for commercial teams.
  • Engage directly with merchants, ensuring a smooth and efficient rollout.
  • Drive decision-making and transparency through data analysis and insights.
  • Act as a consultative partner to Sales, Account Management, Compliance, and prospects, ensuring alignment between merchant needs and internal processes.
  • Interact with merchants as needed to ensure accurate setup and a seamless launch.
  • Educate internal teams on relevant regulatory and procedural updates.
  • Contribute to process improvements that support global scalability.

About you

  • 5+ years experience in commercial, compliance, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to build relationships across teams and regions.
  • Comfortable owning complex processes end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial acumen
  • Able to balance compliance requirements with commercial priorities.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Prior Salesforce experience is preferred.

The base salary for this role in Chicago is: $85,000-$110,000. The compensation package also includes equity (RSUs).
