Qualifications and Detail about the Position
The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for the safe transport of equipment and materials to customer locations. This position is required to perform inspections, load and unload products from trailer, and follow all safety regulations and procedures.
Essential Functions
  • Promote, demonstrate, and instill Brock's Bsafe and Bbest culture in all aspects of the business.
  • Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed.
  • Confirm that contents of each shipment load match the manifest document.
  • Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations.
  • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
  • Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
  • Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible.
  • Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections at the beginning of each shift and report any problems or damage to management.
  • Ensure vehicle is kept clean.
  • Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
  • Inspect equipment for damages and DOT road-worthiness at time of pickup.

Working Conditions
  • Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard, and shop locations.
  • Conditions may include extreme temperature ranges.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper safety methods.
  • Ability to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient using GPS and other routing tools.
  • Good customer service skills.

Education & Experience
  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid Class A driver's license in good standing.
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations.
