Description The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department is seeking a Technical Intern. This position is expected to remain in effect until December 2027. We are looking for someone to Assists professional technical employees in the performance of their duties or performs these duties under close supervision.
Makes photocopies and blueprints. Receives instructions from staff members and applies knowledge to work situations. Learns departmental policies, procedures and methods of operation.
Assists in collecting and analyzing data, preparing charts and reports. Participates in studies and prepares reports under the supervision of professional staff. Operates a variety of equipment.

Grammar and techniques for the preparation and distribution of information Basic principles and practices of organization and public administration. Research techniques. Methods of report presentation.
Report writing Depending upon assignment, basic principles of public administration. Ability to: Interact effectively with the public and employees. Reason logically, draw sound conclusions and make recommendations Learn to assist in performing assigned technical functions Gather and analyze data.
Understand oral and written instructions. Compose clear and concise reports, both orally and in writing. Analyze a variety of technical problems and make sound recommendations.
Education, Experience & Special Requirements: Any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying; typical education would include being currently enrolled in a program leading to a degree from an accredited college, university, or equivalent.
