This individual will work closely with business owners and management teams, manage multiple tax engagements, supervise and review staff work, and play a key role in delivering exceptional client service.

This position offers a clear path toward Tax Manager and future leadership opportunities within the firm.

  • Manage client expectations, timelines, and deliverables throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Participate in business development, networking, and client relationship activities as part of your professional growth and progression toward future leadership opportunities.

Technical Tax Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex business tax returns, including S Corporations, C Corporations, Partnerships, and high-net-worth individual returns.
  • Review workpapers and tax returns prepared by staff and senior accountants.
  • Research and resolve technical tax issues.
  • Assist clients with tax planning, consulting, and strategic business matters.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and industry developments.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and senior accountants.
  • Review work assignments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Delegate work effectively while maintaining accountability for quality and deadlines.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and development of team members.
  • Support managers and partners in building a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment.

Engagement Management

  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor project budgets, workflow, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate resources across engagements to meet client expectations.
  • Assist with billing, collections, and engagement administration as needed.
  • Understand the impact of engagement management on firm profitability and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 5-8 years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing business tax returns.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships.
  • Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or reviewing the work of other professionals.
  • Strong technical tax research and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to enhance client service.
