Job description

SUMMARY
Sullivan & Cromwell LLP is seeking a Coordinator - Talent Management to join the Legal Talent Office in the New York office. The Talent Management team partners with firm leadership and global team members in talent program planning, operations management and strategic initiatives. The Coordinator - Talent Management will support the full employee life-cycle of lawyers, from onboarding, integration, professional development through key career transitions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Correspond with incoming lawyers; assist with pre-hire process and orientation, including coordination of background checks, relocation matters, employment eligibility verification, file audit, etc.
  • Serve as key member of immigration team, including initiating visa and green card cases, tracking status of applications, and liaising with outside counsel and external program sponsors
  • Organize conflicts checks; serve as liaison between lawyers and Conflicts department
  • Coordinate office assignments for lawyers and summer associates
  • Facilitate attorney departure process, including leading offboarding of clerks and visiting lawyers
  • Track law clerk and legal intern activity worldwide, working closely with global office administrators from onboarding to offboarding
  • Prepare materials for lawyer performance reviews and compensation process; assist with talent management system updates and reporting
  • Assist with administration for key career transitions, including bar admissions, leaves of absence, office transfers, etc.
  • Provide general administrative support to department, including expense reconciliation, e-filing management, bar audits, HRIS data maintenance, Office Manual updates, etc.
  • Assist with ad hoc initiatives across the Legal Talent Office, including recruiting and summer program logistics, lawyer trainings, diversity events and other related programming

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong project management, organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and written communication skills; professional, service-oriented demeanor
  • Strong technical skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of HRIS and talent management systems a plus
  • Ability to work independently, meet multiple deadlines and respond well to change or ambiguity

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Two years of full-time experience in a professional environment preferred. Law firm or HR experience a plus
  • Must be available to work overtime evenings as needed

COMPENSATION
The base salary range offered for this role will be between $65,000 and $90,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
