Job description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will deliver full lifecycle recruiting efforts for Covenant Logistics. This position will be proactive with the sourcing and engagement of high-quality talent and will identify and hire talent that will enable the business to achieve its strategic goals. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be the public face of the company during the recruiting process and will ensure positive candidate and hiring manager experiences from the initial application to the final on-boarding process. The Talent Acquisition Specialist must maintain awareness of competitor practices, industry trends and recruitment standards.
Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned job requisitions as received from hiring manager(s)
  • Consult with hiring managers to recommend strategies for identifying and recruiting potential candidates that are both a cultural and job fit.
  • Assist hiring managers and HR Managers with development of open position(s) Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and job descriptions for new positions.
  • Generate leads and source candidates by developing sourcing pools and talent pipelines that include posting job ads through job boards, social media, state employment agencies, professional associations, temp agencies, recruiting agencies, and direct marketing.
  • Collaborate with hiring manager(s) to establish interviewing criteria (standardized email, in person, and phone screening questions) per opening.
  • Use available tools to maintain appropriate documentation on all candidates, searches, and other sourcing activities.
  • Coach hiring managers on interview techniques and common practice as related to general employment laws.
  • Help improve organization attractiveness by monitoring job offers and compensation practices.
  • Evaluate applications, review resumes, conduct initial phone interviews to establish a narrow candidate pool for hiring business units.
  • Make recommendations to hiring managers on the top candidates for in-person interviews.
  • Following approvals, communicate formal job offer letters to selected final candidates and communicate any negotiations or finalizations with hiring team.
  • Continuously measure results to maximize capability to attract and hire the best talent.
  • Attend career fairs as needed.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of innovative and emerging sourcing tools.
  • Conduct required reference checks on potential candidates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of digital and social media recruiting strategies as it relates to talent awareness and engagement
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others (Written and Verbal)
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and practices as it relates to recruiting
  • Working knowledge of the full life cycle of recruitment process preferred

Education/Experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of human resources/recruiting experience. Direct experience with job screening, hiring practices and talent acquisition required.
  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in HR Management preferred.

The posted range reflects the full pay band for the position. The expected pay range below represents where most candidates are hired, based on experience, skills, and internal equity. Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.
  • Expected Pay Range: $49,649.60-$56,492.80
  • Full Pay Range: $49,649.60-$77,916.80
  • Pay Grade: 8
