Job description

Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. Raleigh, NC
We are seeking an experienced Apptio TBM Business Systems Analyst to support and enhance our Technology Business Management (TBM) practice. This role is part of the FP&A technology team and will partner with IT Finance, TBM, PMO, and other business teams to translate business requirements into scalable Apptio solutions that drive financial transparency, cost optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on Apptio platform expertise, and a solid understanding of IT financial management and TBM methodologies. This role may also mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with IT Finance (TBM), PMO, and Technology stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead application roadmap planning and support Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
  • Design, configure, and maintain Apptio modules, including ApptioOne, Cost Transparency, IT Planning and Cloudability
  • Develop and maintain data models, allocations, and cost hierarchies aligned with TBM taxonomy standards.
  • Build reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide transparency into IT spend, budgeting, forecasting, and cost drivers.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain configuration documentation and support change management processes.
  • Provide end-user support, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with Apptio platform enhancements, TBM best practices, and cost optimization strategies.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Systems Support, or Analytics, or Operations Support OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Systems Support, or Analytics, or Operations Support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Apptio (ApptioOne preferred)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • TBM taxonomy and cost allocation methodologies
    • IT financial management and budgeting processes
    • Cloud cost management principles
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • 7+ years of overall software development and 4+ years of experience developing or administration of Apptio application.
  • Apptio Certified Administrator or Apptio TBM certification
  • Background in IT Finance, FP&A, or cost transparency initiatives
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
