Job description

Business Systems Analyst

Location: Onsite in Columbus, OH

Duration: Through 1 year contract, extensions possible


This Business Systems Analyst role supports a product-focused environment where you will partner closely with Product Managers and Scrum teams to drive requirements, backlog prioritization, and delivery of customer-focused solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, collaborate across business and technical teams, and contribute throughout the product development lifecycle from discovery through implementation and testing.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Managers to identify and evaluate new product opportunities through user research and discovery activities
  • Manage and prioritize team backlogs to ensure alignment with product objectives and business priorities
  • Collaborate with Scrum teams and cross-functional stakeholders to drive product delivery and execution
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions
  • Support user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform product strategy and roadmap planning
  • Analyze and track product metrics related to delivery timelines, quality, and overall product performance
  • Develop and execute systems testing and create comprehensive test cases, including edge-case scenarios
  • Design process flows and flowcharts to document information architecture and business processes
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business needs and system capabilities to recommend effective solutions

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in product management, business systems analysis, or a related domain
  • Experience working with Scrum teams, Agile methodologies, and product backlog management
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, including discovery and requirements definition
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements
  • Ability to write detailed epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Knowledge of systems analysis, business process design, and systems testing
  • Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience creating detailed test cases covering identified business and system use cases
  • Ability to develop flowcharts and process documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting cross-functional product initiatives
  • Experience conducting user research, journey mapping, or market analysis
  • Background working in customer-focused product environments
