Job description

About Engine
At Engine, we're transforming business travel into something personalized, rewarding, and simple. For too long, managing travel and spend has been overwhelming and fragmented - we're here to change that. We believe the future of travel should be seamless and powered by technology that delights customers at every step. That's why we're building a platform that brings together corporate travel, a powerful charge card, and modern spend management in one place.
To make this vision real, we're looking for exceptional, mission-driven people to help redefine how businesses manage and experience travel.
More than 30,000 companies already rely on Engine to support over 1 million travelers and billions in annual bookings each year. Cash flow positive with rapid growth, we pair exclusive Engine-only rates, industry-leading rewards, and intelligent automation to help businesses save money while delivering world-class personalization and convenience.
Backed by Telescope Partners, Blackstone, and Permira, Engine has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing travel and fintech platforms in North America, with honors including the Deloitte Fast 500 and Built In's Best Places to Work.
Engine X is our charge card and spend management solution, built to give businesses a single place to manage travel and everyday spend. It's a fast-growing product line inside Engine, and we're investing heavily in scaling adoption across our existing customer base and winning new accounts.
As an Implementation Manager, Engine X, you'll own how quickly and deeply our charge card product takes hold across Engine's customer base. You'll work directly with customers to activate their accounts, drive card issuance, and grow spend on the platform, while partnering with our Sales and Account Management teams to identify the best opportunities. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and wants to help build a category-defining product from the ground up.
Note: this role requires that you work 3 days/week from our Chicago office at 500 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60661
Your Mission:
Drive Engine X Adoption
  • Own Engine X activation and growth across our existing customer accounts, working alongside Account Managers to build tailored activation plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inbound Engine X applications from accounts that don't yet have a dedicated rep, turning interest into activated, ramping customers.

Grow Spend and Card Issuance
  • Meet directly with customers to educate them on Engine X, enable their teams, and drive spend, from first swipe to sustained usage.
  • Partner with our Sales team to increase the number of cards issued per account and expand adoption across departments and business units.
  • Use data to monitor growth, spot opportunities, and remove friction in the customer journey.

Build the Playbook
  • Bring the voice of the customer back to our product team, turning field learnings into actionable feedback that shapes what we build next.
What You'll Bring to Engine:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, account management, customer success, or a fintech/payments-adjacent role
  • Experience with corporate cards, spend management, or B2B financial products is a strong plus
  • A consultative approach. You know how to educate customers and build conviction, not just close deals.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally across sales, product, and customer-facing teams
  • Comfort with CRM tools, performance dashboards, and reporting systems
  • A metrics-driven mindset. You're energized by owning a number and building the strategy to hit it.

How We'll Measure Success
You'll own Engine X application volume, spend growth on the platform, total cards issued, and overall adoption across our customer base. You'll work closely with our Growth, Inbound, Expansion, and Implementation teams.
Applications for this role will be accepted through November 6, 2026 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
Compensation
In addition to a competitive base salary, our listed compensation range includes the estimated variable target. Your OTE (on-target earnings) are based on several factors including your experience, expertise, and location. Your compensation package may also include equity. Your recruiter will share your complete compensation package as you move through the process.
