Job description

Symplicity is the market leader in employability solutions, helping organizations connect talent to opportunity across the full student and career lifecycle. We're hiring an Account Executive to grow our Outcomes and CSM (Career Services Manager) product lines - the tools institutions and employability-focused organizations use to track, prove, and improve career outcomes for the people they serve.

This is a field sales role for someone who understands the employability landscape broadly - not just higher education, but the wider ecosystem of workforce development boards, career services organizations, and outcomes-driven employability programs. The AE will build and execute a territory plan, run a consultative sales process, and grow new and existing business by connecting clients' outcomes and reporting needs to Symplicity's product value proposition. Client satisfaction is paramount, and the AE will lead resolution of issues when necessary.

Essential Duties
  • Own a territory plan and sales call strategy to grow new and existing business across the Outcomes and CSM portfolio.
  • Proactively position Symplicity's outcomes and career-services data as the solution to clients' current business problems, from compliance reporting to program ROI.
  • Drive and execute account management activities - qualifying and developing opportunities, running the full sales cycle, and closing new logos and expansions.
  • Build vertical expertise across employability, workforce development, and higher-education career services, and feed client requirements back to product and business operations.
  • Demonstrate leadership building and managing cross-functional teams (solutions engineering, customer success, partnerships) in support of client opportunities.
  • Engage strategic partners for resources, fulfillment, and account management.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data in CRM; continuously analyze forecasts and adjust strategy based on outcomes.
  • Represent Symplicity at industry conferences and events (e.g., NACE and related workforce/employability forums) to build pipeline and brand presence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of relevant software/SaaS sales experience in the employability space - higher education career services, workforce development, or adjacent employability/talent solutions.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver practical business solutions based on an enterprise understanding of a client's operations and total value portfolio.
  • Experience selling outcomes, data, or reporting-driven products, and translating data into a client-facing value story.
  • Experience tracking activity and managing pipeline in a CRM system (Salesforce or similar).
  • Strong business acumen with an existing network of clients, partners, and contacts across the employability ecosystem.
  • Availability to travel approximately 50% of the time (roughly two trips per month, 2-3 days each).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience selling or working with career services, outcomes-tracking, or alumni/employment survey platforms.
  • Familiarity with workforce development boards, state/federal employability programs, or organizations beyond traditional higher education.
  • Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving career services, institutional research, and executive sponsors.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Key Competencies
  • Consultative, solution-based selling with the ability to speak fluently to outcomes data and ROI.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; confident presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing a home-office-based, travel-heavy territory.
  • Collaborative - works effectively with product, customer success, and marketing to close and retain business.
