Job description

LEGENDS GLOBAL AND SKY VIEW OBSERVATORY

Legends Global operates Sky View Observatory ("SVO"), an innovative guest experience on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center located in Downtown Seattle. Breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views include Mt. Rainier, Bellevue, the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Baker, Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains, the Space Needle and much more.

THE ROLE

The Observatory Ambassador will be a dynamic, interactive role focusing on checking guests in at the box office and escorting them up the elevator to the Observatory, while enhancing the guest experience and ensuring a memorable visit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests as they enter the building and guide them through our ticketing process.
  • Process ticket sales promptly and accurately; scan admission tickets, process City Pass tickets and other required ticket types for accurate guest counts.
  • Ensure that guests present appropriate and valid tickets that reflect their purchase or membership when scanning guest tickets.
  • Communicate with Elevator Operators to assist courtesy guests and estimate elevator wait time.
  • Manage elevator movement and communication through multiple monitors and lines of communication.
  • Consistently complete elevator trips in three and a half minutes or less.
  • Provide a pleasant and informative elevator trip by presenting entertaining facts and trivia about the Columbia Tower, Seattle and other visible sites.

  • Properly balance the number of guests allowed on the elevator per level.
  • Promote a positive professional attitude and appearance to all SVO team members and guests while consistently displaying an upbeat attitude and engaging personality.
  • Properly record all transactions via the point-of-sale system

  • Ensure the safety of our guests while in your assigned areas
  • Ability to retain knowledge learned and aid our guests by providing operational answers to all inquiries
  • Ability to perform and present information in a concise, professional manner to our guests - must be able to speak loudly and clearly and have a commanding presence
  • Cleaning and keeping the box office, retail storage, break room, and observatory space organized.
  • Restocking the Retail space as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be comfortable entering in and working in elevators and at heights
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and willing to engage guests and work in a highly busy, interactive environment
  • High level of demonstrated professionalism and customer service
  • Multi-lingual or sign language capabilities a plus
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-20 pounds, occasionally 30 pounds
  • Must be comfortable entering in and working in elevators and at heights
  • Ability to stock merchandise
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including standing, walking, constant reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • Able to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary)
