Automotive industry purchasing experience is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for purchasing department and for the selection and arrangement of all purchases in order to contribute to company profits and effective business operations. As the person in charge of practical operations in the Purchasing Department, understand the company policy well, carry out the business plan, and put the company's profits first.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for selecting appropriate suppliers
  • Responsible for fair pricing of purchased items
  • Responsible for maintaining proper purchasing processes
  • Responsible for purchasing materials with appropriate quantity and timely manner to keeping production activities well
  • Responsible for responding to internal and external quality-related requests (complaints, audits, PPAP, etc.)
  • Purchasing of raw materials, components, equipment, machinery, provides guidance and assistance for contracted services.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
  • Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Maintains manual or computerized procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with vendors and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

ยท Knowledge of procurement risk management, including related laws and regulations and contracts

ยท Market, material and cost knowledge

ยท Supplier negotiation

ยท Knowledge of the company's products and production processes overview

ยท Vendor evaluation and selection knowledge (including credit management and vendor audit)

ยท Purchasing budget management skills

ยท Strong computer skills including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, e-mail, DDL, EDI, ASN, and inventory management software.

ยท Strong management and supervisory skills.

ยท 5 years manufacturing experience at a supervisory or management level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ยท While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for eight hours, talk, and hear.

ยท The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to feel or handle, and to reach with hands and arms.
