Senior Spine Sales Representative

As a Sr. Spine Sales Representative, you'll lead territory growth efforts by developing strategic partnerships with Spine and Neurosurgeons, delivering expert surgical support, and driving adoption of VB Spine's comprehensive product portfolio. This role combines business development, clinical expertise, and account management in one of the most competitive and rewarding specialties in medical sales.
What You'll Do:
  • Drive territory sales growth through strategic business planning, lead generation, and new surgeon recruitment
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to expand market share and exceed territory objectives
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with spine surgeons, hospital staff, administrators, and key decision-makers
  • Provide expert surgical case preparation and coverage with a focus on delivering exceptional clinical support
  • Educate surgeons, clinicians, and healthcare staff on the proper use of VB Spine products and technologies
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of VB Spine products, competitive products, and industry trends
  • Support new product launches through in-services, product education, and customer training initiatives
  • Manage and maintain sample inventory, consignment inventory, and loaner instrumentation across accounts
  • Move inventory between facilities as needed to support surgical demand throughout the territory and region
  • Maintain accurate records, forecasts, account activity, and customer interactions using CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Collect and manage purchase orders from assigned accounts in a timely manner
  • Provide regular feedback regarding market activity, competitive intelligence, sales performance, and growth opportunities
  • Deliver responsive, high-quality on-call support to surgeons and healthcare facilities when needed
  • Continue developing clinical expertise in spinal anatomy, imaging modalities, and VB Spine technologies
  • Respond professionally to customer concerns and escalate issues appropriately when necessary
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support business objectives and customer success

What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college or university preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of successful sales experience preferred, ideally within medical device sales
  • Alternatively, 2 years of demonstrated success within a medical device sales role required
  • Prior experience supporting spine, orthopedic, neurosurgery, or operating room environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to build rapport quickly and establish long-term customer relationships
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and territory planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop and execute strategic sales plans
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure operating room and emergency clinical environments
  • Demonstrated biomechanical aptitude and ability to master complex clinical product knowledge
  • Proficient with current office technologies including Microsoft Office and CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Strong account management and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
  • Able to lift and carry surgical instrument trays and equipment up to 40 lbs
  • Willing and able to maintain a flexible schedule, including on-call availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
