Description
Security Officer
DSRT SURF isn't a traditional workplace, and we're not looking for traditional people.
We're building a fast-growing hospitality and lifestyle brand where surf culture, guest experience, and high performance come together in a unique way. We're looking for people who thrive in energetic environments, take pride in their work, and want to help build something special from the ground up.
This is a fully on-site role in Palm Desert, California.
What You'll Do
As a Security Officer at DSRT SURF, you play a critical role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-run environment for our guests and team. You are the first and last line of presence on our property - calm, professional, and sharp at all times.
Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor and patrol the property, gates, parking areas, and public spaces throughout your shift
  • Enforce DSRT SURF policies and procedures and ensure compliance with facility rules
  • Respond to and de-escalate incidents involving guests, staff, or property in a calm and professional manner
  • Document and report incidents, observations, and concerns accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor access points and manage entry and exit flow for guests and staff
  • Coordinate with management and other departments on safety-related matters
  • Assist with crowd management during peak operating hours and special events
  • Serve as a visible, approachable presence that supports the overall guest experience
  • Respond to emergencies and support first responders as needed
  • Conduct opening and closing security checks as assigned

Requirements
What You Bring
  • Previous security, law enforcement, or related experience required
  • Experience working in a hospitality, entertainment, or high-traffic public venue preferred
  • Ability to de-escalate conflict and handle high-pressure situations with composure
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear and professional communication with guests, staff, and management
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls in real time
  • Valid Guard Card (BSIS) required or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Who You Are
You bring a steady, professional presence to everything you do. You're not looking for conflict - you're looking to prevent it. You take pride in your role and understand that safety and hospitality go hand in hand.
  • Calm, composed, and professional under pressure
  • Highly observant and situationally aware
  • Respectful and approachable with guests and team members
  • Dependable and punctual - your shift starts on time, every time
  • Solutions-focused with a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Adaptable and proactive

Compensation
$20-$22 per hour based on experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to move quickly and respond to incidents across the property
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including desert heat
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Schedule Expectations
Full tine and part time available, on-site position. DSRT SURF operates across three shifts covering our full operating window. Availability across all three shifts - including evenings, weekends, and holidays - is required. Specific shift assignments will be discussed during the hiring process.
Why DSRT SURF
