Red Cross AmeriCorps Programs
AmeriCorps is a national service program that partners with non-profit agencies to meet the critical needs of communities. The American Red Cross hosts a multi-state AmeriCorps program that focuses on engaging volunteers and providing emergency readiness education to mitigate risk in vulnerable communities that are disproportionally affected by negative outcomes following a disaster. We will have service opportunities in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Montana, Idaho, Oregion and Washington. We are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a significant impact on others and gain professional experience in a meaningful way.
Recruitment will open up in late May 2025 for our September 2025 - July 2026 program year.

Requirements
  • Must be able to serve approximately 40 hours per week
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • Holds a High School Diploma or General GED
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
  • Applicants who currently reside outside of that state which they will serve should be prepared to relocate, if selected for the position

Qualifications
  • Ability to serve outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Flexible, self-motivated and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Bilingual language skills in Spanish, Korean, Mandarin/Cantonese, Tagalog, and Vietnamese are not required, but highly desired
  • Recent college graduates, veterans, and those looking for an opportunity to explore new career paths are encouraged to apply!

  • Bi-weekly stipend, health and dental coverage, and childcare assistance to those that qualify
  • Federal student loan forbearance during the period of service. Accrued interest of those loans will also be paid with the successful completion of the program
  • AmeriCorps members that successfully complete a term of service will be eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award for tuition and/or to repay qualified student loans
