Job description

Interior Logic Group is seeking a Fork lift Material Handler to support operations in our Granite & Stone Countertop Shop. This role is responsible for the safe handling, movement, and organization of large stone slabs, granite, quartz, and other solid surface materials. The Material Handler will work closely with saw operators, fabricators, and installers to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency in the shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely handle, move, and transport stone slabs using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks and storage racks while ensuring slabs are properly secured to prevent damage.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for cracks, defects, or inconsistencies.
  • Organize and stage materials for cutting, fabrication, and installation based on work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management, tracking material usage and reporting discrepancies.
  • Work collaboratively with saw operators, fabricators, and shop supervisors to meet production schedules.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and PPE requirements.
  • Perform basic maintenance and inspections on material handling equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or stone fabrication preferred.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience required (certification preferred but not mandatory).
  • Ability to safely lift 50-75 lbs and work with heavy materials.
  • Familiarity with granite, quartz, and natural stone materials is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and best practices in material handling.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented production environment.
