Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Schedule and assign tasks for dock planning and setup
- Observe loading and unloading of trucks for proper handling and distribution of freight while ensuring timely delivery
- Supervise operations, procedures, and freight movement
- Enforce all safety measures regarding freight balance for safe truck operation
- Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
- Train new dock employees and provide feedback, coaching, and discipline as needed in partnership with the Operations Manager
- Create and maintain a teamwork-oriented environment
- Coordinate drivers and assign trucks and delivery routes
- Maintain equipment and facilities for effective, clean, and safe operations
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills, Experience, and Educational Requirements:- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in LTL freight, logistics, or transportation
- 2 years of freight handling experience; LTL environment preferred
- Proven leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills (AS/400 and Microsoft Office preferred)
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred
- Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
- High school diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred
- Previous warehouse or related experience strongly preferred
- Forklift experience required
- Basic English proficiency (reading, writing, and verbal) required
