Logistics Operations Supervisor
Expected Salary Range: $76,000 - $85,000 per year

The Logistics Operations Supervisor coordinates and oversees warehouse logistics operations in support of specialized federal government construction and manufacturing projects, supervises logistics team personnel, and directs and performs daily logistics tasks including receiving, inventory control, preparation and packaging of materials, and shipping. The Logistics Operations Supervisor ensures safe, on-time delivery of supply to internal and external customers by effectively supervising logistics personnel while also performing logistics tasks. The Logistics Operations Supervisor collaborates closely with supervisors and managers of other departments, including procurement, engineering, production, project management, operations, and safety, to ensure accurate, timely material tracking and flow to support uninterrupted construction and production activities.
Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Evaluate and optimize warehouse logistics processes, including warehouse layout, inventory levels, and material flow, to meet operational and customer requirements.
  • Ensure logistics operations follow established procedures, industry best practices, and organizational standards to support consistent and reliable performance.
  • Coordinate the work of logistics personnel, providing direction, support, and oversight to ensure operational goals are achieved.
  • Perform daily logistics tasks in support of federal projects, including stock management, receiving, crating, packing, shipping and housekeeping.
  • Proactively resolve delivery delays, damaged goods, or carrier issues to minimize disruptions to project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate logistics and shipment records within company systems to ensure visibility of inventory movement and delivery status.
  • Manage inventory stock levels by conducting periodic cycle counts to determine inventory imbalances.
  • Build a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous operational improvement in support of mission critical federal projects.

Skills and Specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify, resolve, and prevent issues within manufacturing and construction supply chains.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize when allocations of resources may need to be revised.
  • Ability to prepare and present inventory reports.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities to coordinate with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and company leadership.
  • Ability to adapt to changing supply chains and project priorities.
  • Ability to identify, document, and resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies in coordination with procurement personnel, vendors, carriers, and internal and customer project teams.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including user-level experience with ERP, WMS, and other inventory management systems (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling procedures, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position requires the supervision of direct reports.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office and/or manufacturing and warehouse environment inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely use standard office equipment, material handling equipment such as forklifts, and tools of the trade.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Regular lifting up to 75 lbs. will occur.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, on-site, salaried position. Standard days and hours are 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, during standard extended business hours. The ability and willingness to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends as needed for business purposes is required.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a similarly relevant field. Relevant additional education is a plus.
  • 5+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Demonstrated vendor management and transportation experience in a warehouse setting, including inbound and outbound shipments and reverse logistics.
  • Certification in forklift operation preferred.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
