Job Title: Operations Supervisor
Job Hours: 2nd Shift: M-F - 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Summary:


The Operations Supervisor is a salaried, exempt leadership role responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations during the assigned shift. This position ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations while leading hourly team members to meet productivity, quality, and customer service goals.


The Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in driving operational excellence within a fast-paced logistics environment, ensuring alignment with Schnellecke Logistics standards, customer requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the values, philosophy, mission, strategy, policies, and standards of Schnellecke Logistics.
  • Lead and supervise warehouse and logistics operations during the assigned shift to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Manage staffing levels, workflow distribution, and labor planning to meet operational demands and service level agreements.
  • Coach, train, and develop hourly team members while addressing performance and conduct issues in alignment with company expectations.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and service metrics; communicate performance results and operational updates to management.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and customer-driven requirements to ensure operational compliance and readiness.
  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support operational goals and business objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational and business needs.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience in warehousing, logistics, or distribution environments required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and support performance improvement.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in both plant and office environments.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, vibration, and varying environmental conditions, including wet and humid environments.
  • Exposure to occasionally loud noise levels.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Bending and reaching may be required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the shop floor to prevent injury.
