Position Summary
The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department's Golf Course Maintenance Division is seeking dedicated and highly responsible individuals for the position of Irrigation Technician - Summer Seasonal. Irrigation Technicians are responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing the irrigation system at the Breckenridge Golf Club. Irrigation Technicians also mow turf in order to maintain golf course features such as: greens, aprons, fairways, tees, roughs, practice areas, and non-play areas. Various types of equipment are used to accomplish this mowing. Irrigation Technicians are responsible for proper equipment operation; cleaning equipment; and reporting equipment issues.
Individuals in this position also provide leadership to Greens Keepers who are assigned to help with irrigation projects. Irrigation Technicians perform other duties such as: course set-up, aeration, topdressing, and vertical mowing, fertilizing, irrigation installation, drainage installation and repair, trimming bushes, hand watering, picking up debris, repairing ball marks, etc. Irrigation Technician are responsible for working within a team environment and communicating in a positive and professional manner with guests, co-workers, and golf course operations personnel and attending required work shifts, including necessary trainings.

Qualifications
MINIMUM & DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) or more years of golf course maintenance experience required.
  • Must be available to work for the established seasonal timeframe, which is generally May through October, based on organizational needs.
  • Previous Irrigation Technician experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:
  • Valid Colorado Drivers License and a Motor Vehicle Record deemed appropriate are required prior to driving Town vehicles.
  • Community CPR, First Aid, and AED training required within 60 days of hire.
  • Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.

Additional Information
Typical Hiring Pay Range: $21.50 - $22.75 per hour.
WORK SCHEDULE
Primary shifts for this position vary. However, five (5) days per week for up to 40 hours would be typical for this position. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
