Job description

**OPEN TO CURRENT APS EMPLOYEES ONLY**
**You must complete and submit a Summer School/Extended Learning Application. **
Manages all resources and aspects of the summer school programs at the summer school site including personnel, student services, and staff payroll.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential Functions: Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with our without reasonable accommodation:
  • Attend all administrative team planning meetings; coordubate akk summer programs planning with Curriculum & Instruction, Language and Cultural Equity, Special Educcation, Office of Equity and Engagement, Indian Education and the STEAM program
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of applicants for school-based position
  • Recruit and hire summer staff; teachers, secretary, counselor, librarian, CSA's and others if needed.
  • Work with Summer School Senior Director on summer site staffing, manage and submit complete employee rosters.
  • Supervise all staff and all students on campus.
  • Collaborate with all summer program coordinators/departments as needed.
  • Coordinate accurate payroll procedures with the summer site secretary.
  • Remain on-site each day for the duration of daily sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records in Synergy regarding students and grading.
  • Collaborate with Summer High School Counselor to ensure graduating seniors have met all graduation criteria.
  • Supervise the development, implementation, and maintenance of school policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the coordination and implementation of district instructional programs and ancillary and operational support programs at the school level and assist in their development.
  • Serves as an instructional leader at the school site.
  • Monitors school activities and policies for adherence to all district, state, and national regulations.
  • Develops and maintains student discipline procedures following established guidelines.
  • Supervises the development and maintenance of a school environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students.
  • Establishes policies and procedures to ensure the safety of students, staff, facilities, and equipment.
  • Supervises the preparation and maintenance of all records and reports as required by C & I Executive Director.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience: The minimum expectations for this job are as follows:
  • Site Administrator at the secondary level.
  • Commitment to program integrity and program criteria.
  • Experience with Special Education requirements and/or accommodations.
  • Knowledge of graduation requirements, intervention, and remediation at the Secondary level.
  • Experience as a Principal, Assistant Principal, or in a district administrative position(s).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.
  • Knowledge of APS community, computer system, financial and legal requirements.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others.
  • Knowledge of district policies on immunization, medication, first aid, emergencies and child abuse/neglect.
  • Three years of teaching experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent.
  • Valid State Department of Education administrative licensure
