Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance, guidance, support and tutoring to TRIO participants students at the DENISON campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide individual and small group tutoring for students.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of orientation, workshops, cultural events, student activities and trips.
  • Advise students about registration, financial aid, and other support services.
  • Prepare requested reports, tutoring logs, and contact sheets.
  • Maintain Lending Library inventory.
  • Use excellent communication and human relations skills.
  • Uses database applications to create and manage files and communicate requested information, maintaining confidentiality.

This is a part-time, grade 5, administrative position working 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with an annual wage of $22,469. Some travel with student groups may be required. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, tuition waiver and retirement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience working with low-income, first generation, and/or students with disabilities.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer proficiency, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media platforms (i.e. Facebook and Twitter), and learning management systems (i.e. Canvas).

Physical Demands
Light physical effort required for office work may include stooping, kneeling, reaching, and movement of job-related objects and materials; ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds.
