About the Program: Nebraska Methodist Health System is proud to offer a comprehensive Student Nurse Summer Fellowship for senior-level nursing students graduating between December 2026 and May 2027. The program is designed to support a smooth transition into safe, competent, and professional practice. Through a structured and collaborative model, fellows participate in job shadowing, precepted clinical experiences, informal mentoring, and guided debriefing sessions to help build confidence and clinical readiness.
The fellowship is designed to provide students the opportunity to:
Work one-on-one with experienced nurses in a variety of settings across the continuum of care.
Develop clinical skills through real world, hands-on experience.
Gain confidence and insight into interdisciplinary teamwork and the collaborative dynamics of patient care.
Immerse yourself in our hospital culture, where support, learning, and compassion guide every interaction.
This 8-week program will run May 18, 2026 - July 10, 2026.

Helps patients by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs, providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Provides appropriate care specific to the age of the customer/patient, to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment, as outlined in the Age Specific Criteria.

  • Gives individualized customer service/patient care.
