Job description

Harbor is seeking an Experienced Consultant to join our growing Strategy + Transformation (S+T) team.  OurS+T team works with law firms and corporate law departments toprovidea wide range ofmanagement consulting services. This role will assist law firms in improving their efficiency, accuracy, and speed of their revenue cycle by optimizingbusiness strategies and improvingoperational performance through people, process, policy, andinteresting technology. 

You willsupport specific client engagements on a project-by-project basis.You will help mentor associate-level individuals and provide guidance in supporting the completion of deliverables and commitments. You will embody core Harbor values by providing an excellent client experience, developing current and future client relationships through service delivery that exceeds client expectations.   

This is a full-time position, and this role offers a hybrid work arrangement if located in Chicago, Illinois and is fully remote for candidates elsewhere.We are seeking an individual with a dynamic skill set who is willing and eager to jump into a variety of project types to help solve our clients' strategy and operations business problems.


Job Duties + Responsibilities:  
  • Coordinating with Project Leadership on all aspects of projects including collecting information, data analysis and research, process mapping, creating reports and presentations, and leading and presenting to clients 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the legal industry/practice and business acumen to support the development of solutions and insights for clients as it relates to people, process, and service delivery transformation. This should ideally include projects related to law firm or professional services operations with an emphasis on revenue cycle and finance functions 
  • Independently structure, write, and present effectively, as well as generate organized and persuasive deliverables  
  • Work closely with team members and client personnel to review findings and help support implementation of recommendations  
  • Guide junior team members with client communication, project management/ execution and practice operations  
  • Support practice administration and planning through input on project pipeline tracking as well as resource planning  
  • Aid in the development of proposal and business development materials, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Harbor's established format 
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of Harbor's reputation for thought leadership and problem-solving and actively contribute to practice growth/evolution   
Qualifications:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree required, with preference given towards those with business or economics-oriented degrees  
  • 5-6 years of total work experience, preferrable in consulting or in a relevant industry with a client-facing role delivering projects  
  • Experience with law firm or professional services operations and strategy strongly preferred  
  • Experience in law firm revenue cycle management or finance advisory roles, is preferred. 
  • Proven track record of managing multiple engagements and clients simultaneously  
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills including experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis  
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills (written and spoken) demonstrating confidence, professionalism and sound judgement when interacting with clients and internal stakeholders  
  • Excels in a cooperative team environment  
  • Ability to create client deliverables with limited oversight from senior leadership  
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to quickly learn and develop new subject matter expertise and business skills  
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks, maintaining exacting standards for work product with keen attention to detail  
  • Advanced computer skills (primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with use of Outlook, Teams and SharePoint as collaboration tools  
  • Occasional travel may be required (domestic or international)
