Job description

Executive Assistant - Chief Strategy Officer

This position provides administrative oversight and management for the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of the health system and provides administrative support for select members of the Strategy Office and key projects in association with the Chief Health Officer. This position interfaces with a wide range of internal teams and external partners, requiring flexibility and a high level of independence and initiative. Has strong project management and technical skills to take on a range of different types of projects for Office leadership and support of the Strategy Office overall. Serves as the onsite resource for the Strategy Office at the Governor Park sites. Work location is defined by project needs and is current projected to be split across North County Inland (Escondido), and La Jolla locations (Jacobs Medical Center and Governor Park). Is able to handle highly confidential projects. Other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Related experience: supporting C-suite executives in large, complex corporate environments.
  • Familiarity with the organization's processes, protocols and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Solid analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Political acumen and sensitivities to the differing perspectives and political circumstances within all levels of the organization as well as the Office of the President and external constituencies.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Strong skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, faculty, alumni / donors, students and external constituencies, both verbally and in writing.
  • Advising and counseling skills.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Solid skills in problem identification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Full proficiency in relevant software tools including Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Comfort and interest in learning new tools as needed.
  • 3+ years experience supporting C-suite executives in a large, complex environment.
  • Calendaring and managing multi-organizational meetings.
