The (USA) Director, Workforce Planning leads complex projects to develop and implement workforce analytics, planning, and improvement strategies aligned with enterprise objectives. This role oversees data analysis, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance workforce management and operational efficiency. The position drives strategic business initiatives by translating requirements into actionable solutions, guiding teams on analytical methodologies, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The Director fosters talent development, resource optimization, and continuous improvement to support organizational goals while maintaining high standards of integrity and ethical leadership.
About the team:
The team supports Sam’s Club by leading operating model and organizational design, including structure, layers, and delivery. It develops skills frameworks and job architecture, focusing on job design, leveling, and capability taxonomy. The team drives capability building through innovative learning approaches and establishes design standards with clear decision criteria. Success is defined by creating future-state operating models via effective workforce planning and job design, implementing enterprise skills and job architecture for key job families, and delivering a reusable organizational effectiveness playbook. The team collaborates cross-functionally to align strategies and optimize workforce management outcomes.
What you'll do:
  • Lead and execute complex workforce planning projects, converting requirements into actionable business intelligence and analytical solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate workforce analytics, standards, and improvement strategies aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to validate workforce plans and enhance forecasting accuracy for operational planning.
  • Oversee project execution, resource allocation, and progress monitoring to ensure timely achievement of milestones.
  • Analyze business objectives and customer needs to develop and implement strategic workforce plans.
  • Drive talent development initiatives, including capability gap analysis, recruitment, and succession planning.
  • Foster strong partnerships and communicate project status with key stakeholders and teams.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
