What are Store Planning Managers?

Store Planning Managers are professionals responsible for designing and organizing the layout of retail stores to optimize space, enhance customer experience, and maximize sales. They work closely with merchandising, operations, and construction teams to develop floor plans, allocate product placement, and ensure that the store environment aligns with brand standards. Their role often includes analyzing sales data, forecasting space needs, and overseeing store remodels or new store openings. Store Planning Managers play a critical part in driving store performance and supporting business goals.

  • Prior allocation or inventory planning experience within a specialty retail brand or apparel company is highly preferred.
  • Superior financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to find the story behind numbers.
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and drive.
  • Creative, "outside-the-box" thinker who approaches challenges with resourcefulness.
  • Strong communication skills, able to build genuine connections across teams.
  • Collaborative mindset with a proven ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Ability to thrive and maintain a grounded focus in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
