OVERVIEW:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Design Implementation

  • Adapt, scale and execute the store design vision and strategy across the DICK's Sporting Goods stores portfolio.

  • In partnership with a Sr. Store Designer or Manager of Store Design, based on design brand standards and business strategy, creates 3D models, 2D drawings, presentations, and details that effectively communicate design intent with internal and external partners

  • Drive and support multiple design projects in various stages of the retail project life cycle

  • Leverage design process and best practices to ensure creative intent and design deliverables are met.

  • Create, refine, and evolve environmental design components across the full DICK's Sporting Goods stores portfolio.

  • Ensure quality, detail, and accuracy of internally created plans and externally developed drawings.

  • Provide design solutions that are within budget and raising awareness when risks arise.

Coordination & Communication

  • The Store Designer is the central point of communication for the plan development process and is responsible for providing plans and plan updates to key stakeholders such as Architects, Construction Project Managers, and Visual Merchandising.

  • Implements and coordinates requests for changes that apply to assigned projects.

  • Incorporate business strategies and metrics into consumer engaging store layouts and fixture compositions

  • Key point of contact through all phases of a project for the resolution of site condition related issues and the coordination of solutions with all internal and external partners.

  • Communicate and present design concepts to the Design Director and VP

  • Coordinates with outside fixture vendors on the addition of new fixtures into store takeoff processes and provides fixture takeoff information using Revit software.

  • Provides the Procurement Team with accurate plans and data for ordering fixtures, mannequins & graphics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or related field, or equivalent education, experience, and training

  • 3-5 years experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Retail design industry/environments preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated strength in operating in a design studio and delivering progressively complex projects of varying scales, budgets, and timelines

  • Expert in applying design skills including concepting, ideation, spacial design in scale, and space planning layouts

  • Strong knowledge of production design, fabrication, materiality, and emerging trends.

  • Highly collaborative with ability to work within a team and independently

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing work priorities, demands, and changes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present in small or large group settings
