How much do storage sales jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 21, 2026, the average hourly pay for storage sales in the United States is $56.21, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $46.63 and $66.35 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How much does a 100 unit storage unit make?

A storage sales professional's earnings depend on commissions and sales volume; typically, they earn a percentage of the rental income or a base salary plus commissions. For a 100-unit storage facility, monthly revenue can range from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars, but individual earnings vary based on location, occupancy rates, and sales performance.

Can you make $500,000 a year in sales?

In storage sales roles, earning $500,000 annually is possible but typically requires high sales volume, strong client relationships, and experience in enterprise or large-scale accounts. Most sales professionals reach such income levels through commissions, bonuses, and performance incentives, often in senior or specialized positions. Achieving this level of income generally involves advanced sales skills and industry knowledge.

How does a Storage Sales professional typically collaborate with technical teams during the sales process?

Storage Sales professionals work closely with solutions architects and technical engineers to ensure that proposed storage solutions align with client requirements. While the sales professional manages client relationships and identifies new business opportunities, they frequently coordinate with technical teams to develop demonstrations, address technical concerns, and create customized solutions. This collaboration is essential for translating complex technical features into clear business value, ensuring client satisfaction, and closing deals efficiently.

What is Storage Sales?

Storage Sales refers to the process of selling data storage solutions and services to businesses or individuals. Professionals in this field help clients choose, implement, and manage storage systems such as cloud storage, data centers, and hardware-based storage devices. The role often involves understanding clients' data management needs, recommending appropriate products, and providing ongoing support. Success in storage sales requires both technical knowledge of storage technologies and strong sales skills.

What is the difference between Storage Sales vs Storage Technician?

AspectStorage SalesStorage Technician
Primary RoleSell storage solutions and services to clientsInstall, maintain, and repair storage hardware and systems
Required SkillsSales, customer service, product knowledgeTechnical skills, hardware troubleshooting, installation
Work EnvironmentOffice, client sites, sales meetingsData centers, server rooms, technical labs
CertificationsSales certifications, industry knowledgeIT certifications, hardware repair, networking

Storage Sales focuses on selling storage solutions and building client relationships, while Storage Technicians handle the technical installation and maintenance of storage hardware. Both roles are essential in the storage industry but differ in daily tasks, skills, and work environments.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

In storage sales, high commissions from selling large-scale storage solutions or enterprise contracts can potentially lead to weekly earnings of $4,000 or more, especially for experienced sales professionals with strong client networks. Success in such roles often depends on sales skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to close high-value deals, rather than formal education. These roles typically involve commission-based pay structures and may require certifications or technical understanding of storage products.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Storage Sales professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Storage Sales professional, you need a solid understanding of data storage solutions, sales acumen, and typically a background in IT or business. Familiarity with CRM software, storage technologies (such as SAN/NAS), and relevant vendor certifications (like those from Dell EMC, NetApp, or HPE) is highly valued. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and the ability to translate technical features into business value make candidates stand out. These skills are important to effectively address customer needs, build trust, and drive sales in a competitive technology market.

What is the highest paid job in sales?

In sales, executive roles such as Vice President of Sales or Chief Sales Officer tend to be the highest paid, often earning six-figure salaries plus bonuses and commissions. These positions require extensive experience, strategic skills, and leadership abilities, and compensation varies by industry and company size.

Job description

Senior Regional Sales Manager

Solar & Energy Storage  ·  Remote (Northeast / New England) ·  Uncapped Commission

We’re looking for a hunter, a closer who can walk into a new market residential and commercial, find the right people to talk to, and bring the deal home. If you know solar and energy storage, you love the chase more than paperwork, and you’re tired of asking permission to do your job well, read on.

About Fortress Power

Fortress Power is an established, profitable solar and energy storage company entering its next phase of growth. We sell battery storage, the most sophisticated component of a modern solar system, and effectively its brain, along with the broader product line, through solar and electrical distributors, EPCs, and installation companies. Our Regional Sales Managers are the people who grow that business in the field.

About the Role

As Senior Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast, you own revenue growth in your territory. You’ll hunt and close net-new business across two channels: selling through distribution and direct to installers, and across both residential and commercial markets. It’s a complex, consultative B2B sale: within a single account, you might work an owner, a CFO, an engineer, and a sales team, and you’ll need to know how to navigate all of them to get to yes.

What You’ll Own

  • Hunting and closing net-new distributor, EPC, and installer accounts across the Northeast.

  • Your territory strategy, end to end - who to target, how to break in, and how to grow the account.

  • Complex, multi-decision-maker B2B sales, from one-person installer shops to larger commercial firms.

  • Growth across both residential and commercial channels

  • Hands-on product and sales training for your partners’ teams so they can sell and deploy our solutions.

  • Field intelligence back to product and marketing on positioning, pricing, and the competitive landscape.

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven hunter. A documented track record of identifying, negotiating, and closing net-new technical B2B accounts, ideally with closing performance near the top of your field.

  • 5+ years in technical B2B sales or sales management.

  • Solar / energy storage industry experience. Working knowledge of PV systems, inverters, and battery storage, and how the distributor and installer landscape works.

  • Self-direction. You run your own game, bring your own ideas.

  • Mobility. Based in the Northeast and able to travel roughly 50–70% within the region for client visits, site evaluations, and trade shows.

  • Education. A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a technical discipline is a plus.

Bonus points

  • Energy storage sales specifically

  • An active network of installers, EPCs, and distributors in the Northeast.

Why This Role

  • Uncapped commission. Tiered and uncapped

  • Real autonomy. Work from home, hit your number and you run your own playbook.

  • Your ideas get implemented. Bring a strategy and you’ll get the support to execute it

  • Room to grow. Expand your territory, grow into Senior RSM or Sales Director, or stay an individual contributor with a bigger book- at a company positioning for significant growth.

Let’s Be Straight With You

We want this to fit on both sides, so here’s the honest version.

  • This is a hunting role, not an account-management seat.

  • Travel is real and regular. Trade shows, site visits, and face-to-face selling are the job.

  • If you don’t already know the industry, the ramp is longer — so we’re prioritizing people who already speak solar and storage, but we are willing to train the right person on the industry.

The Details

Location:  Remote, based in the Northeast / New England

Travel:  Approximately 50–70% within the region

Compensation:  Competitive base, plus uncapped, tiered commission

Benefits:  Health, dental, and vision insurance · PTO and paid holidays
