Job description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Product Owner Lead - Finished Goods is skilled at meshing Product information (PIM), Product Data Management (PDM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) product knowledge with business needs and identifying innovative solutions that leverage the multiple product technology platforms. The lead is the primary link between OC business teams and product development team responsible for executing Finished Good product releases.

The lead brings expertise in current and evolving PIM relevant information technologies (SAP, Step by Stibo, Adobe, Content Management Systems, Digital Technology, Syndication platforms, and Digital Asset Management). Ideates with business and technical teams to identify appropriate data solutions to drive full value from investment in PIM technology platform.

This role engages in soliciting feedback from product stakeholders and is accountable for planning and delivery of project functional releases and optimizations. The lead collaborates closely with business and technology teams to develop a relevant and realistic product roadmap that support each business and become a subject matter expert on developed Finished Good solutions. The lead builds and fosters strong working relationships with Global Information Services partners, functional business partners, third party providers and elevates the PIM product acumen across the company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies 

  • Build relationships within the GIS organization, cross-functionally, and with key stakeholders; ensure effective contact to remain aligned with functional objectives
  • Understand the strategic direction of the company's businesses and execute functional strategies to support and enhance business results; be knowledgeable of the project work that supports this direction and implications to the business
  • Provide guidance and have knowledge of the required development processes and tasks necessary to bring business needs to implemented solutions
  • Develop solutions that meet business needs and add value

 

Executing the Strategy / Business leadership

  • Support ongoing initiatives to onboard new divisions, customers, departments, and products onto PIM, PDM, Syndication, and DAM
  • Work with stakeholders to expand workflow, webUI, data models, back and forth integrations, brand, and attribution for new products and maintenance of products
  • Develop relationships with the divisional and business unit subject matter experts, business product owners, sales, marketing, communications, OC Studio, product managers, and product content specialists

 

Product leadership

  • Leverage PIM/PDM/DAM product and technology expertise to educate and proactively influence commercial and business decisions that increase value to our marketing, commercial and engineering teams. Drive finished good product adoption and change management with all stakeholders.
  • The Finished Goods lead works with business units and data architecture to govern omnichannel data, quality, and processes:
  • Lead and support on-going initiatives to on-board new products into the finished goods software. Be instrumental in this initiative by becoming the subject matter expert (SME) of PDM, PIM and DAM software.
  • Perform and/or support data modeling, data standardization, data cleanup, data migration/conversion, software setup/configurations, user-acceptance testing, deployments from development, test, to production environments, and training.
  • Work with product leaders and data stewards to monitor data integrity, maintain data, linking digital assets to appropriate products on an on-going basis.
  • Create and maintain new business rules, validation rules and workflows within finished goods software, export data feeds to meet business system requirements, syndication or distributor product informaiton requirments. 
  • Create and maintain import data feeds for data being automatically imported from other business systems.
  • Create and lead or co-lead data governance committee/team that as a team defines data standards, monitors data conformance, communicates health of data, provides training and/or support in the efforts to create and/or cleanup data.
  • Lead, co-lead, and/or perform future on-boarding of data into the software applications to support ERP's, e-catalog ecommerce, website, business intelligence, other business systems and external customer/distributor needs. This may require defining requirements, modification to data models, defining new data standards, performing and/or leading data migration efforts, and performing and/or leading user acceptance testing (UAT).


Innovate and think strategically

  • Partner with Global Information Services (GIS), business and commercial leadership to formulate and maintain a finished goods product roadmap of current and future features and functionalities by leveraging established finished good product governance structure. Proactively engage with external customers to understand their product roadmap and future upgrade and release plans in partnership with product and platform owners.

Product life-cycle management-

  • Covers all steps from inception of product to its end of life including product strategy, feature conceptualization, marketing, release implementation, sustainability, evolution, and retirement.
  • Collaborate with IT project managers, product owners, platform owners, digital team, and technology architects to plan finished good product releases, develop release project plan, direct and manage release execution resources, coordination of workflow between cross function teams, end user training, release roll out and production support
  • Leverage OC core execution methodology to gather requirements, design user experience, and develop implementation and product marketing plans
  • Ensure functional and user experience tradeoffs are clear with business and technical teams
  • Communicate and provide timely release status to the finished good project/release team, key stakeholders, and management

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

     

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience with MDM, PIM, DAM, Syndication with Stibo STEP
  • 5+ years' experience in information technology focused projects including websites, portals, apps, mobile, data integration, analytics
  • 5+ years working directly with business teams (commercial, business) in a role understanding and translating business needs into technical implementation
  • Demonstrated expertise in understanding workflows and business process, identifying issues and providing solutions that leverage PIM/MDM/DAM/Syndication relevant technologies 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Data architecture, data modeling, system configuration, system administration, or software implementations preferred.
  • Manufacturing B2C, B2B environment required.
  • ERP(SAP) and eCommerce or syndication platforms preferred
  • Generating requirements and/or user stories to successfully communicate business needs
  • Collaborating with 3rd party providers, agencies, development teams
  • Customer service and technology team representation in end-to-end product lifecycles
  • Data interfaces between third parties and disparate systems
  • Successfully led or participated in the development of Stibo Step Product Information product releases
  • Experience with at least one full-cycle implementation of Stibo Systems STEP MDM in a leadership role; additional MDM/PIM implementation experience a plus
  • Agile development methodology experience desirable

  • Ability to understand nuances of products, digital assets, content, and relevant business processes
  • Ability to translate business ideas into buildable solutions and generate associated use cases
  • Proficient understanding of business goals and is embedded with internal client teams, regularly offering ideas and solution options.
  • Advanced skills in understanding capacity and demand balance; is skillful at aligning expectations, communicating, and establishing transparency
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, SQL, and/or computer programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage medium to large scale, cross-functional projects involving global processes, cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
  • Utilization of analytics to gain insights into effectiveness of finished good product tools
  • Ability to plan and structure work across multiple teams (project coordination and teamwork) and continuously adapt to updating priorities
  • Superior prioritization and execution while in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical and non-technical teams as well as third parties; ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels or the organization
  • Ability to identify target audience and adapt communication style or method accordingly to clearly convey relevant information with confidence. Understand others through active listening
