STEPS Recovery Solutions - Lake Charles, LA


We have an opportunity for experienced Addiction Recovery Technicians (ARTs) to join our team in Lafayette. We have openings for full time, part time or PRN.โ€ฏThe full-time positions that are immediately available are 7 am to 7 pm, 7 pm-7 am.

You must have the following education, skills and experience to be considered:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in healthcare, preferably in addiction treatment or behavioral health.
  • Customer service driven with a genuine interest in the well-being of patients.
  • Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with patients and their families, professional support staff and other team members.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.
  • High energy with engaging personality and strong people skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully prioritize workload.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

If you join our team, you'll enjoy the following responsibilities:

  • Assists in supervision of patient activities and always remains aware of patient whereabouts, including during breaks and internal activities.
  • Ensures a safe environment for patients; enforces program rules at all times.
  • Engages patients in therapeutic activities as appropriate and assists with therapeutic and recreational activities.
  • Provides appropriate support and structure for patients in dealing with their recovery.
  • Exercises therapeutic communication skills and takes steps to de-escalate distressed patients.
  • Observes and documents patients' behavior. Notifies supervisor, nursing team and/or clinical team when appropriate regarding signs of medical distress or behavioral concerns.
  • Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that patients conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
  • Ensures compliance with wake-up and bedtimes.
  • Transports residents for any external meetings, medical appointments, etc.
  • Conducts search of all patient bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found and notifies supervisor and/or other team members when appropriate.
  • Randomly inspects all rooms, common areas, hallways and bathrooms and regularly performs thorough searches for contraband.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
