Job Summary:
As Direct Support Professional Residential (PRN), you will play a key role in providing support and guidance to individuals who have developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to live independently and lead fulfilling lives. You will work closely with a diverse group of residents, fostering a safe and inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and empowerment.. This is a PRN position in which the employee will work hours that do not conform to a regular schedule.

Hours: Flexible: the shifts could include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. You can pick your shift

Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with residents, ensuring their overall well-being and safety.
- Provide assistance and training to residents in daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household chores.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents.
- Facilitate group activities and social events to encourage social interaction and community engagement.
- Support residents in developing and enhancing their independent living skills, such as budgeting, transportation, and job readiness.
- Monitor and document residents' progress and behaviors, reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
- Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that respects and values the diversity of residents and promotes their self-advocacy.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care governing residential facilities.
Qualifications:

-Must be 18 years of age.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a residential setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated understanding and respect for the rights and privacy of individuals in a residential setting.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations, demonstrating problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic documentation.
- Must pass NM Department of Health background check and drug screening.
