TEST ENGINEER PRINCIPAL

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Test Engineer Principal, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the frontline border security component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). CBP is charged with the priority mission of preventing terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the United States while also facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel. CBPs mission is vitally important to the protection of the American people and the national economy. Within CBP, GDIT works with the Office of Finance (OF) to manage and maintain the financial processes. Those processes include budgeting, accounting, procurement, and asset/property (real and personal) that enable CBP to accomplish its mission.CBPs Revenue Modernization (Rev Mod) program manages the automation and centralization of the collection and administration of duties, taxes and fees. CBP collects approximately $45 billion annually, including $1.5 billion collected via individual, manual transactions. Transitioning these manual transactions to electronic means will result in more secure, accurate and efficient processing, and will enable CBP Officers and other non-uniform personnel engaged in these transactions at the Ports of Entry to focus on enforcement and facilitation of legitimate trade and travel. The Rev Mod program includes multiple projects which are focused on various solutions.

Primary duties and essential functions include:
Defining and implementing the role testing plays within the program
Deploying and managing the appropriate testing processes and framework to meet the testing mandate.

Defining the scope of testing within the context of each project / release / delivery.

Develop Test Management plans, schedules and resource needs

Develop and manage the development of test scenarios and test cases

Setting up / implementing automated testing

Execute testing as needed

Manage testing defect identification, tracking and resolution

Implementing and supporting appropriate measurements and metrics.

Managing and growing testing assets required for meeting the testing mandate:

--Team members

--Testing tools

--Testing processes

Manage resources including:

--Resource assignments

--Deliverable assignment and review,

--Review time and expense charges, etc.

Manage stakeholders and coordinate test stakeholders across the organization including business, IT, Office of Trade, Office of Field Operations, and operational testers

Manage the adherence to Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC) and project management standards

Develop documentation in support of ELC requirements and project needs

Management and executive reporting


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Test Engineer Principal must have:
Education: BS
Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience

Technical skills:

--Test leadership experience of IT projects of mid-size complexity (i.e. 6 12 months; $1 - $10M)

-- Experience implementing and/or testing functional technology solutions (i.e. hands-on experi ence)

--Deep understanding of integration points encountered by project testing

--Strong documentation and communication skills

--Hand-on experience with Test Automation software

--Strong analytical skills

--Ability to effectively analyze and resolve issues

Security clearance level: DHS Background Investigation is required
US citizenship required
Role requirements: On-site preferred

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
